Challenging Field Awaits Cardinals at the Clemson Invitational

LOUISVILLE — The University of Louisville women's golf team, which enters the week ranked No. 40 in the country by Golfstat, returns to the course at the Clemson Invitational, Friday-Sunday, at the 6,471-yard, par 72 The Reserve at Lake Keowee.
With three tournaments in the books, the Cardinals have shown improvement in each event, but are still looking for its first top-five finish of the spring.
Last weekend, facing one of its most difficult tests with eight top-25 teams in the field, the Cardinals finished in 13th place. As a team, the Cardinals shot a 19-over-par 307 on the final day to finish the three-day event at 51-over-par. UofL carded a 295-313-305=915 at the UGA Golf Course.
Hana Ryskova tied for 10th overall after shooting a 1-over-par 73 on Sunday to finish the event at 4-over-par. She shot 71-76-73=220 for the tournament.
A lineup consisting of Ryskova, Lauren Hartlage, Margot Bechadergue, Agustina Gomez-Cisterna, and Carly Haines will make the trip for Louisville. Haines will appear in her second tournament of the spring, while the other four have been regulars in the lineup.
Louisville is one of 18 teams set to compete this weekend, including five from the ACC. Clemson will serve as host for the 54-hole event. Notre Dame, Illinois, Furman, Augusta, Indiana, Kent State, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan State, Ohio State, Old Dominion, Purdue, UNC Wilmington, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin are the other teams competing in this weekend's field.
Friday and Saturday will feature shotgun starts at 10 a.m., while Sunday's final round will get underway at 9 a.m.
