Salle Named ACC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The University of Louisville's Fabien Salle has been named ACC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ended on February 28 as announced by the league office today.
Salle (Geneva, Switzerland) went 2-0 in singles last weekend and helped the Cardinals earn their first ACC victory of the season. The junior and team co-captain, earned both wins in straight sets, opening the weekend with a 6-3, 6-2 upset of Notre Dame's sixth-ranked Richard Ciamarra. He went on to beat Boston College's Max Mendelsohn 6-3, 6-2 in Louisville's 6-1 win over the Eagles. Salle improved his singles record to 5-1 as Louisville's No. 2 player.
Additionally, he teamed with sophomore Matthew Fung for a 6-2 win against BC at the No. 1 spot to clinch the doubles point. The duo collected its team-best fifth win of the season.
Louisville (5-4, 1-3 ACC) will return to action this weekend when the Cardinals play host to No. 1 North Carolina Friday at 2 p.m.
