November 29, 2021 | Women's Lacrosse
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville lacrosse assistant coach Allison Daley has been selected to the 58th induction class to the Canisius College Sports Hall of Fame.
Daley, a 2011 graduate at Canisius, is in her first season as an assistant coach at Louisville.
Louisville head coach Scott Teeter is the all-time winningest coach at Canisius and coached Daley for her entire collegiate career.Â
Â
"It's really great for her to be recognized for her accomplishments. She was the heart and soul of our team and helped put us over the top to win our first conference championship and for her to get it done her senior year was a tremendous ending to her collegiate career," said Teeter on Daley's induction into the Hall of Fame. "We brought her on staff right away as a graduate assistant and she's coached with me at the collegiate level, the national level and now at the Power 5 level. It's just a tremendous honor for her."
Â
A four-year letterwinner, Daley is the fourth former member of the women's lacrosse program to be inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame. The two-time All-MAAC First Team honoree owns the school's career records with 662 saves and an 11.66 goals against average. She became the first women's lacrosse player to earn all-region honors in 2011 after she ranked seventh nationally with a .496 save percentage. Daley garnered MAAC Championship MVP accolades in 2011 after posting a .564 save percentage and an 8.50 goals against average in the two wins as she helped the Griffs capture the program's first MAAC title. The 2010 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, she led the league in saves per game and save percentage during her junior campaign. She began her career by recording a school-record 174 saves as a freshman in 2008.
Â
After her collegiate career, Daley played for Team Canada at the 2017 FIL Women's Lacrosse World Championship. She also served as the associate head coach of Team Canada at the 2019 U-19 World Championship, helping guide the squad to a silver medal at the event. She was the head coach of the women's lacrosse program at Canisius for four seasons, leading the program to a share of 2018 MAAC regular-season title.
