Di Palma and Verma Bow Out of ITA All-American Tournament

Rain delays mar doubles pair's first ITA
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis doubles pair of Andrea Di Palma and Rhea Verma fell to the top seeded pair from Oklahoma, Carmen and Ivana Corley 8-2 at the ITA All-American Tournament in Charleston, S.C.Â
Verma and Di Palma then fell to conference foe Clemson when Eleni Louka and JennaThompson topped the Cards 8-5 in the consolation bracket. Â
The Cardinals are idle this weekend but play Oct. 15-17 at the West Virginia Fall Invitational.Â
In singles play at the ITA All-American, Andrea Di Palma won her first match with a 7-5, 6-0 win over Shakhnoza Khatamova of UC-Santa Barbara. In the next round, Di Palma fell in three sets to Princeton's Victoria Hu 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 in a spirited contest.Â
Verma and Di Palma then fell to conference foe Clemson when Eleni Louka and JennaThompson topped the Cards 8-5 in the consolation bracket. Â
