
Louisville Plays at Clemson on Sunday

The Cardinals and Tigers will kick off at 1 p.m. ET.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's soccer travels to play at Clemson on Sunday afternoon. The match will begin at 1 p.m. ET and broadcast on ACC Network Extra.

Louisville enters Sunday's match with a 7-6-1 overall record and they are 3-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.

Julia Simon scored her fourth goal of the season in the 71st minute in the 4-1 loss at Virginia. She has scored in back-to-back games after recording her third goal of the season in the 87th minute against Boston College.

It marks her first goals since she scored two in the season-opener and her collegiate debut against Western Michigan on Aug. 19. She leads the team with 11 points, is tied for the team-lead with four goals and is tied for second with three assists.

Sophomore Emma Hiscock recorded her first career assist on a beautiful pass to Simon at Virginia. She had her first career game-winner in the 99th minute of the 2-1 overtime win over Wake Forest.

She is tied with Simon for the team-lead with four goals. She scored a goal in each of the first three matches after not scoring a goal during her freshman campaign. She is the first player to score a goal in three straight matches since Emina Ekic did it from Sept. 27 to Oct. 4, 2019 in a 3-0 win at Syracuse, a 2-1 win at BC and a 2-1 win vs. Wake Forest.

Sixth year goalkeeper Gabby Kouzelos ranks fourth in the ACC with 3.93 saves per game. She has played all but 29 minutes this season. She now has 247 saves, which ranks fourth all-time in UofL program history. She ranks first all-time in UofL program history with 7,467 minutes in goal.

The Tigers have recorded three wins over ranked opponents this season, defeating No. 12 South Carolina, No. 19 Pittsburgh and No. 17 Virginia Tech. Clemson's lone loss to a ranked opponent was a 4-1 defeat against No. 1 Florida State on Oct. 3. Megan Bornkamp leads Clemson's attack with eight goals and 25 points. Renee Guion ranks fifth in the nation with 11 assists and is currently tied for second in Clemson history for most assists in a single season. Hensley Hancuff has recorded 29 saves and three shutouts and has a .744 save percentage.

Last Meeting (Oct. 10, 2019): Callie McKinney's goal early in the first half proved to be the game-winner as the No. 16 Louisville held off No. 9 Clemson for a 1-0 victory at Lynn Stadium. The Cardinals jumped out to an early lead in the third minute. A corner kick from Allison Whitfield found McKinney on the right side of the penalty box, who sent a header into the upper left corner of the far post for her first goal of the season. Despite the Tigers out-shooting Louisville 8-2 in the second half, the Cardinals recorded their seventh shutout of the season as Gabby Kouzelos made four saves between the posts.
