
Alex and Michael Wesbrooks Set for USTA Father/Son Clay Court Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's tennis senior Alex Wesbrooks will travel to Sebring, Fla., where he will team with his father, Michael in the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Father/Son Clay Court Nationals from Oct. 22-24.
The is not the first time Michael and Alex Wesbrooks have teamed to compete in the event. In fact, the duo is looking for its fifth straight title in a run which started 2016.
"My dad and I have won the Father and Son clay court nationals for four years in a row, which ties the tournament record for consecutive wins," said Alex Wesbrooks. "This weekend we get the opportunity to travel to Sebring, Florida and compete for another national championship. This is definitely one of my favorite weekends of the year, and - win or lose - it is always a great time getting to play doubles with my dad."
Alex Wesbrooks, a Louisville native (St. Xavier) wrapped up the 2021-22 fall season with a 6-1 singles record, advancing to the semifinals of the Louisville Invitational.
The Wesbrookses are the top seed in the tournament and received a first-round bye. The pair will take the court on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. in the quarterfinals. See the complete draw here.
