2021 Men's Tennis Schedule Released

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rodrigo da Silva has released 2021 spring schedule. The slate features five top-25 opponents and includes 15 matches at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"After having our season cut short last spring and dealing with a pandemic in the fall, we are super- excited to have a schedule in place," said da Silva. "The guys have worked really hard throughout the fall and I am looking forward to seeing them in action soon."
At this time, in accordance with COVID-19 precautions, fans will not be allowed to attend indoor matches at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. View the complete schedule here.
After the 2020-21 fall season was canceled due to the spread of COVID-19, the Cardinals will return to action for the first time in nearly a year when they play host to Dayton in a doubleheader on January 27 followed by a twin bill against Tennessee Tech on January 31. The Cardinals will close out their home stand with a doubleheader against Bellarmine on February 3.
After six matches at home, the Cardinals will hit the road for a weekend trip to the state of Alabama where they will face the University of Alabama and Auburn. January 19 marks the start of a challenging Atlantic Coast Conference slate with road matches at NC State, which finished the 2020 season at No. 6 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings followed by a trip to No. 13 Wake Forest. Louisville will close out the month of February with a pair of ACC home matches against Notre Dame and Boston College.
The four-match home stand continues into early March when Louisville plays host to No. 2 North Carolina and Duke before hitting the road for four straight matches at Middle Tennessee, No. 12 Tennessee, No. 21 Miami and No. 28 Florida State.
Middle Tennessee will pay a visit to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on April 1 for the Cardinals' final non-conference match of the season. Louisville will then travel to Notre Dame, Clemson and Georgia Tech before returning home for to wrap up the season against Virginia Tech on April 16 and celebrate senior day on April 18 when Louisville takes on Virginia.
The ACC Championship will take place April 21-25 in Rome, Ga.

Louisville returns seven players from last year's squad while two newcomers joined the team in the fall. The 2019-20 Cardinals posted a 9-6 overall record and a 2-1 mark in league play during the shortened season.
UofL returns eight players from last season while welcoming freshman Kyle Tang and junior Josh Howard-Tripp, a transfer from the University of Arkansas. David Tesic will also join the Cardinals in January.
