The Fredrik Moe File
Full name: Fredrik Øyan Moe
Hometown: Moss, Norway
Class: Senior
Major: Finance – earned bachelor's degree in May 2020
Hobbies include: Playing video games, hanging out with friends, also enjoy soccer and
Favorite athlete: Rafael Nadal
Future plans
I initially had planned on trying to stay here and look for jobs/internships that could give me some experience in an international market. Otherwise I do plan on taking a master degree, but then probably in Norway as it is free for me there.
Favorite tennis memory at Louisville
My favorite tennis memory on court was without a doubt when George Hedley and I clutched the doubles point against No. 1 Wake Forest. Otherwise, my favorite team experience must be the trip we had to Hawaii, being able to experience and tourist the island of O'ahu as well as playing team matches in great weather.
What advice would you give to a younger student-athlete just beginning his or her collegiate career?
My advice would most definitely be to establish good habits. Have a schedule on everything you are going to do and have to do for every day. It is not easy managing classes, assignments, exams, practice, lift etc. at the same time. You are going to be tired, you will lose motivation in doing your best for homework's and assignments, but if you don't stay on track from one day to another it will make everything a lot tougher. (Speaking from experience)
How old were you when you started playing tennis?
I tried it out when I was around seven years old with my grandpa - he played tennis - but I quit, because I was more into soccer at that time. I started back again when I was about 10. I started practicing a lot and playing in a lot of tournaments. I just really got into it – it's such a competitive sport.
