Checking in with Alex Wesbrooks
March 30, 2020 | Men's Tennis
Throughout the remainder of the 2020 spring semester, we will check in with the players on the University of Louisville men's tennis teams as they complete their semesters online. This week we check in with sophomore Alex Wesbrooks.
As the Cardinals' season ended, Wesbrooks had compiled a 7-2 over record in singles with a 3-0 mark in dual matches at the No. 6 spot.
"I was in my kitchen making food when I saw that UofL had suspended athletic events." Wesbrooks said."Although I understand and completely agree with the decision, it was hard to accept that our year was over. I was especially upset for our seniors Clement (Filho) and Fred (Moe) because I know how excited they were to finish their last year off and get the senior day sendoff that they deserved."
"When coach talked to us about it, he told us that this situation was bigger than us, and that even though it hurt in the moment, it was something that needed to be done. We know that we will be back stronger next year, and we can't wait to get back on the courts and compete."
