Getting to know...Linda Trockel

Each week we will be sitting down to get to know one of our Louisville women's golfers. This week, we get to know Linda Trockel. She is a junior from Berlin, Germany and is majoring in exercise science. She missed most of the 2019-20 season due to injury but competed in the Cardinal Cup in the fall.
What is your favorite pump-up song?
Walk It Talk It by Migos
What is your favorite pregame meal?
Oatmeal, Coffee, Eggs and toast
Where is your favorite place you have competed?
Dominican Republic with Louisville
Excluding your sport, what is your favorite sport to watch?
Soccer and lacrosse

What is your favorite movie?
The Fault in Our Stars
What is a hobby that you have that most people do not know you have?
Hiking
Do you have any pregame rituals?
Just listening to pump up music and starting with 20 mins putting, then 20 mins chipping and lastly hit balls for 30min

USC
Who is your hero/role model?
Tiger Woods
If you could eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Oven roasted chicken thighs with paprika and chicken seasoning with potatoes and asparagus

When people are on the phone while I am talking to them

What is one thing most people do not know about you?
That I did boxing for 2 years

Basketball

What is your best memory/experience playing your sport?
Winning the German Club Championship with my team
Why did you choose Louisville?
I choose Louisville because I loved the campus and how everything is so close together. I also loved the atmosphere. But I choose Louisville because I connected instantly with the coaches and the practice facilities are insanely good.
How do you know coming to Louisville was the right decision for you?
The coaches and practice facilities made my decision very easy, it was love at first sight
What is one thing our program has taught you?
Since it is such a competitive program it taught me to go the extra mile in order to make it into the lineup
What is your favorite thing about our team/program?
My favorite thing about the team is that we are from so many different places, therefor you learn a lot about other cultures, and I love how competitive our team is. My favorite thing about the program is that we play in the ACC and we play tournaments against the best teams in the nation. Just everything about this program is great.
What is the best part about being a student-athlete at Louisville?
The best part about being and student-athlete at Louisville is that you are a part of a top ranked program. As well you get to represent your Louisville gear in class, and wearing the Cardinal head on your chest at tournaments.
What do you miss most about being on campus?
I miss most seeing my friends and having a daily routine going to team workouts, class, practice, and eating team dinner.
What are you doing with yourself during your free time?
I like to go for another workout, watch TV shows, or play Xbox.
What's one thing you wish you had with you during this time?
Wish I had a fully equipped home gym.
How are you continuing to stay in shape during this time?
I do resistance bands workouts, body weight workouts or go for a run.
How have you and your teammates been keeping in contact?
We stay in touch almost every-day and check on each other or send funny memes in the group chat.
