Cardinals Wrap Up the Weekend at the Tyson Invitational

Fayetteville, Ark. – The University of Louisville men's and women's track and field team wrapped up competition at the Tyson Invitational on Saturday.
Auriane Viola and Aliyah Welter paced the team to start the day with personal best performances in the women's pole vault. Viola cleared the bar at 4.15m/13-7.25 to finish in second place. Welter finished right behind Viola with a mark of 3.95m/12-11.50.
Rashida Harris also finished with an indoor personal best. The senior heaved the shot put 15.93m/52-3.25, passing her former mark of 15.71m/51-6.50 to finish third in the event.
Jeremiah Willis finished with a collegiate best for the second straight week, this time in the triple jump. The freshman leaped a collegiate best of 15.06m/49-5, placing sixth in the event. He finished second in the long jump on Friday, completing a successful weekend.
Junior Gabriela Leon finished third in the women's pole vault invitational clearing a height of 4.18m/13-8.50. Leon wraps up the regular indoor season finishing in the top three of every meet in the pole vault.
The Cardinals will take a week off before returning to competition Feb. 27-29 in South Bend, Ind. at the ACC Indoor Championships.
