McFerran Named to Ireland's Euro Championships Roster

Four-time All-American Ayeisha McFerran will help Ireland begin its quest for an Olympic berth
Former University of Louisville field hockey standout Ayeisha McFerran was selected to Ireland Field Hockey's roster for the Euro Hockey Championships.

The Green Army will take on England, Germany and Belarus in Pool B of the Championship with their opening match against England taking place on Sunday, August 18.

The goalkeeper is in her sixth year as a member of the Irish National Team which is set to compete in the European Championships in August. She was named Best Goalkeeper of the 2018 World Cup after leading Ireland to a silver medal. She was instrumental in the Green Army's historic run, surrendering only three goals in their first five matches, and dominating in a pair of shootout victories as they entered the finals.

McFerran (Larne, Northern Ireland) graduated from UofL in May 2019 after becoming the program's first four-time NFHCA All-American. She finished her career ranked among the school's top three in career victories (50) victories and shutouts (20) and goals against average (1.40).
