Louisville finishes the weekend with four wins
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track and field team wrapped up the final day of the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational on Saturday with two wins and 11 top-three finishes. Overall, the Cardinals had four wins on the weekend.
Albert Kosgei won the 3000m steeplechase to give the Cardinals their first win of the day. Kosgei finished with a time of 8:57.30. Martice Moore won the 110m hurdles handily with a time of 14.08.
Gabriela Leon finished second in the pole vault, clearing 4.02m/13-2.25. Senior Morgan Zacharias finished third with a mark of 4.02m/13-2.25.
Freshman Luke Nichols finished second in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.06m/6-09. Alivia Ash finished tied for third in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.71m/5-7.25.
Noah McBride finished second in the 200m with a time of 21.03. McBride also finished third in the 100m with a time of 10.57. Sydney Hill finished third in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 13.66.
Rashida Harris finished third in the shot put with a throw of 15.70m/51-6.25. Makenli Forrest finished third in the seeded discus with a mark of 52.38m/171-10.
Gianna Gaul tied her personal best with a throw of 48.75m/159-11 to finish second in the women's open discus. Teammate Lilli Popovich finished third with a season best time of 47.67/156-05.
The Cardinals will take next week off to prepare for the ACC Championships, held May 9-11 in Charlottesville, Va.
