Â
DON KIRBY ELITE INVITATIONAL
Results
Â
The Cards saw the program record in the women's pole vault fall to highlight the Don Kirby Elite Invitational, as Ashley Callahan and Iliana Triantafyllou posted matching clearances of 4.50m (14-9) to earn a pair of top-five finishes in the invitational section of the event.
Â
The mark raises the previous record of 4.48m (14-8) that was set by Callahan at the Bellarmine Open on Jan. 16. With their performances in Albuquerque, the duo becomes the first pair of teammates this season to both clear the 4.50m mark while also moving them into a tie for fifth nationally among marks entering the weekend.
Â
Lydia Stuart also notched a personal record in the women's vault, moving up to seventh in school history with a bar of 4.25m (13-11.25).
Â
Along with their stellar performance on the pole vault runway, the Cardinals dominated in the sand pit, with Miller Jones and Roman Kuleshov earning third and fourth, respectively in the men's triple jump and Alba Cuns Iglesias placing third for the women.
Â
Jones put together a personal-best leap of 15.93m (52-3.25) that ranks fifth in program history, while Kuleshov posted a mark of 15.91m (52-2.5) to finish just behind his teammate. Cuns Iglesias narrowly missed out on improving her own program record, notching a final mark of 13.14m (43-1.5).

Â
Lucinda Rourke also bettered her own school record in the women's mile, finishing third with a time of 4:36.85 that took roughly three seconds off the previous Louisville best of 4:39.65 that she set at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Jan. 31.
Â
After etching her name in the record books last night in the women's 3000m Nancy Chepleting broke her second freshman record of the weekend, clocking a time of 4:44.44 that smashes her own record time of 4:49.68 from the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Jan. 31.
