Louisville returns to action Sunday at NC State

The University of Louisville men's tennis team fell 4-0 to second-ranked Wake Forest in an ACC matchup Friday afternoon at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.

The Cardinals (12-6, 1-3 ACC) will return to action on Sunday when the continue conference play at No. 27 NC State.

Wake Forest (16-3, 3-0) took an early lead after winning a highly-contested doubles point. The No. 35 duo of Petros Chrysochos and Bar Botzer gave the Demon Deacons an early edge with a 6-2 win over Louisville senior Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff and freshman Fabien Salle. The Cards quickly evened the tally on court three where senior Federico Gomez and junior Clement Filho defeated Siddhant Banthia and Melios Efstathiou 6-3. The first point of the match was decided at the No. 2 spot when Morgan Dill and Julian Zlobinsky outlasted the Cardinals' senior George Hedley and junior Fredrik Moe 7-5.

In singles action, Wake Forest picked up wins on courts 2, 3 and 6 to secure the victory. Banthia increased the lead with a 6-0, 6-1 decision against Filho at No. 6. Second-ranked Chrysochos defeated Morin-Kougoutheff 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 1 spot and Rrezart Cungu's 6-2, 6-4 win over Salle brought the final score to 4-0.
