Men and Women Finish 12th at ACC Championships on Friday Afternoon

Ivine Chemutai earns All-ACC honors
Blacksburg, Va. – The University of Louisville men's cross country team wrapped up a competitive afternoon at the ACC Championships on Friday afternoon in Blacksburg, Va. at the Burford Meredith Cross Country Course. Both the men's and women's teams finished 12th.
Sophomore Ivine Chemutai earned All-ACC honors as she placed 13th with a time of 21:10.5. Junior Bailey Beery was Louisville's No. 2 runner as she finished 34th with a time of 21:41.0. Junior Kassidy Manning finished at 88th with a time of 22:46.5. In the overall standings, NC State's Elly Henes took the individual title with a time of 20:37.4, while NC State earned the ACC team title with 64 points.
On the men's side, sophomore Emmanuel Cheboson was the top finisher for the Cardinals, finishing 45th with a time of 25:22.7. Junior Albert Kosgei was the second finisher for the Cardinals. He finished 69th with a time of 26:02.7. Freshman Isaac Kiprop finished 79th in his first ACC Championship with a time of 24:43.6. In the overall standings, Virginia Tech's Peter Seufer won the individual title with a time of 23:42.7, while Syracuse earned the ACC team title with 68 points.
The Cards will now turn their attention to the NCAA Southeast Regional on Friday, Nov. 15 at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. The 2019 season will then conclude with the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, Ind.
