No. 16 Louisville Hosts No. 9 Clemson on Thursday Night

Cards host a Top 20 ACC match on Thursday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The No. 16 Louisville women's soccer team hosts No. 9 Clemson on Thursday night before hitting the road to face Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals are off to their best start in school history with an overall record of 10-1 and an ACC record of 3-1. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports. Â

Last week the Cardinals came from behind to defeat Wake Forest 2-1 at Lynn Stadium. Freshman Ravin Alexander scored her first collegiate goal and the equalizer in the 53rd minute.  Emina Ekic scored the game-winner off a free kick in the 68th minute.Â

Ekic leads the Cardinals on the season with seven goals and six assists for 20 points. Snyder ranks second on the team with four goals and one assist for nine points.   Junior keeper Gabby Kouzelos leads the team in goal with a 0.59 goals against average.  She owns a 10-1 record along with six shutouts.Â

Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 20th season with the Cardinals. She has led Louisville to five NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011.

SCOUTING CLEMSON
Ninth-ranked Clemson enters the match with an overall record of 8-2-1 overall and 2-2 in the ACC after falling 1-0 to No. 3 North Carolina last week. Clemson is ranked No. 9 by United Soccer Coaches, 17th by Soccer America and 17th by Top Drawer Soccer.

Mariana Speckmaier and Maliah Morris lead the team in scoring with 10 points each. Speckmaier has five goals while Morris has four goals and two assists. Sandy MacIver and Hannah McLaughlin have split time in goal for the Tigers. The two keepers have combined for a 0.53 goals against average along with six shutouts.Â

Eddie Radwanski is in his eighth season as the head coach of the Tigers. Radwanski was named the 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Soccer Coach of the Year, after guiding Clemson to their first ACC title since 2000.Â

 The series is tied at 1-1. The teams have split matches on each other's home field. The first meeting in 2016, Clemson defeated Louisville 1-0. The next year, Louisville walked away with a 2-1 win in Clemson.
