No. 12 Cardinals Play Two ACC Matches on the Road This Week

Cardinals will face No. 1 Virginia on Thursday and Miami on Sunday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The No. 12 Louisville women's soccer team will hit the road this week in ACC play. The Cardinals will play No. 1 Virginia on Thursday night before heading to Miami for a Sunday afternoon match. Louisville is coming off a 1-1 draw against ninth-ranked Duke last Friday.
Emina Ekic leads the Cardinals on the season with seven goals and seven assists for 21 points. Snyder ranks second on the team with four goals and one assist for nine points. Junior keeper Gabby Kouzelos leads the team in goal with a 0.52 goals against average. She owns a 11-1-2 record along with seven shutouts.
Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 20th season with the Cardinals. She has led Louisville to five NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011.
SCOUTING VIRGINIA
Virginia enters Thursday's match ranked No. 1 in the country. The Cavaliers are 12-0-3 on the year and 4-0-3 in ACC play. The top ranked team is coming off a 3-0 win over Notre Dame on Sunday.
Diana Ordonez leads the Cavaliers in scoring with 13 goals and two assists for 28 points. Meghan McCool is second on the team in scoring with 10 goals and one assist for 21 points. Laurel Ivory has started 14 games in goal for Virginia. She owns a 0.21 goals against average and an 11-0-3 records. She has collected 19 saves this season.
Steve Swanson is in his 20th season with the Cavaliers. He has compiled a 310-92-48 record and coached 10 ACC Player of the Year selections. Virginia currently holds a streak of 14 consecutive seasons of advancing to at least the Round of 16 at the NCAA Championships under Swanson's guidance.
SERIES HISTORY
Virginia leads the series 6-0-0 against the Cardinals. All six Cavalier victories have been by one goal. Last year Louisville lost to Virginia 1-0 in Lynn Stadium and then fell 2-1 to the Cavaliers in the ACC quarterfinals in Charlottesville.
SCOUTING MIAMI
Miami enters the match with an overall record of 4-7-2 and an ACC record of 1-5-1. The Hurricanes are coming off a 3-0 loss to Florida State on Friday night.
Tia Dupont leads the Hurricanes in scoring with three goals and five assists for 11 points. Bayleigh Chaviers ranks second on the team in scoring with three goals and three assist for nine points. Tyler Speaks leads the team between the posts with a 1.91goals against average. She owns a 4-6-2 record along with 49 saves.
Sarah Barnes is in her second season with Miami. She came to Miami after spending six seasons as the head coach at George Washington University, where she was named the 2015 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
SERIES HISTORY
Louisville leads the series 3-1-1 against Miami. The Cards have one the last two meetings against the Hurricanes. Last season at Lynn Stadium Louisville defeated Miami 3-0. The Cardinals are 1-1 against the Hurricanes in Miami.
