No. 19 Cardinals Host Wake Forest on Thursday Night at Lynn Stadium

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The No. 19 Louisville women's soccer team returns home after winning a pair of ACC road games last week to host Wake Forest at Lynn Stadium on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network. Â
Louisville is coming off a 2-0 road swing last week. The Cardinals defeated Syracuse 3-0 on Friday morning then went on to defeat Boston College 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. Emina Ekic finished the week with two goals and two assists while Delaney Snyder scored a pair of goals.Â

Ekic leads the Cardinals on the season with six goals and six assists for 18 points. Snyder ranks second on the team with four goals and one assist for nine points.   Junior keeper Gabby Kouzelos leads the team in goal with a 0.55 goals against average.  She owns a 9-1 record along with six shutouts.Â

Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 20th season with the Cardinals. She has led Louisville to five NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011.

SCOUTING WAKE FOREST
The Demon Deacons are on a five-game streak without a win after facing three Top 25 opponents in that span. Wake Forest battled NC State to a 1-1 draw on Sunday after suffering a 3-2 loss to No. 10 Duke at home to open up its ACC schedule.

Hulda Arnarsdottir paces the team with five goals and 11 points, while Hayley Younginer, Madison Hammond and Abby McNamara are also multi-goal scorers this year. Goalkeepers Meghan Kennedy and Mac Carmichael combined four an 1.11 goals against average. They have 35 saves on the year.      Â

Tony da Luz owns a record of 257-165-44 in his 22 seasons with the Demon Deacons. He has guided Wake Forest to 17-straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including the program's first College Cup in 2011.Â

 Wake Forest leads the all-time series 3-1-0 against the Cardinals. Last season the Cardinals defeated Wake 2-1 in Winston-Salem. Thursday's meeting will be the third meeting since Louisville joined the ACC. In the conference meeting, the Demon Deacons won 2-1 on their home field. This will be the first meeting between the two teams in Louisville.Â
