Cardinals Wrap Up Regular Season at Pre-Nationals on Saturday

Women finish eighth while the men finish 25th
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's cross country team wrapped up a competitive afternoon at the Under Armour Pre-Nationals on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinal women finished eighth in the white race with three top 20 finishers. The men finished 25th in the blue race.
In the women's race, sophomore Ivine Chemutai led the Cards with a top 10 finish. Chemutai ran a personal best 6K time of 20:54.8 to finish eighth. It was the third straight top 10 finish for Chemutai. Junior Bailey Beery ran a 6K collegiate best time 21:17.8 to finish10. The finish marks the second straight top 10 finish for Beery. Kassidy Manning logged her second top 25 finish of the season. She finished 21st with a season best time of 21:27.9. The remainder of the Cards' scoring came from senior Lauren Radenhausen and sophomore Lindsey Fanz. The Cards placed eighth in the overall tally, with Arizona topping with 121 points.
Sophomore Emmanuel Cheboson led the Cardinals with a top 25 finish. He finished 21st with a time of 23:56.0. Junior Albert Kosgei was the second finisher for the Cardinals. He finished 54th with a time of 24:28.1. Freshman Isaac Kiprop finished 87th with a time of 24:43.6. Junior Cameron Stephens and sophomore Ryan Johnston rounded out the Cardinals' scoring. In the overall tally, the Cards placed 25th with 589 points, BYU took first with 81 points.
The Cards will now turn their attention to the ACC Championships on Friday, Nov. 1 in Blacksburg, Va.
