Cardinals Set for Under Armour Pre-Nationals on Saturday

Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's and women's cross country teams will be competing Saturday, October 19th at the Under Armour Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind. The race will be held at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, which will also host the NCAA Championship in November. The men's Blue race will begin at 11:35 a.m. while the women's White race will begin at 12:15 p.m.
The Field

In the Rankings
The field features many ranked teams on both the men's and women's side. BYU and Colorado are ranked in the top three on both sides. The Washington men are ranked No. 4 while the women's team is ranked No. 7. Ole Miss has both teams ranked in the Top 25, the men are ranked No. 8 while the women are ranked No. 17. Rounding out the men's field, is No. 14 Oklahoma State, No. 21 Iona, and No. 25 Eastern Kentucky. Rounding out the women's field, is No. 7 Michigan, No. 11 Florida State, No. 12 Boise State, and No. 20 Illinois.
About the Cardinals
The women's team is coming off a performance with two Top 10 finishers. Sophomore Ivine Chemutai finished in fourth place overall with a time of personal best time of 16:54.6. Junior Bailey Berry came in sixth place overall with a personal best time of 17:04.7. Junior Kassidy Manning finished with her first Top 25 finish of the season at 21st with a time of 17:36.9.
The men's team is coming off a second place finish at the Louisville Cross Country Classic. The Cardinals came in with three finishers in the Top 15. Sophomore Emmanuel Cheboson finished fifth place with a personal best time of 23:13.4. Junior Albert Kosgei finished eighth with a time of 23:45.8, while freshman Issac Kiprop finished 12th with a collegiate best time of 24:00.2.
