LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville lacrosse head coach Scott Teeter, along with senior attacker Tessa Chad and sophomore midfielder Caroline Blalock, spoke to the media at the annual Spring Sports Media Day.
The Cardinals open the season on Friday, Feb. 8 at Northwestern and their first three games will be on the road. They open the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, Feb. 23 vs. Mercer.Â

- Last season, Blalock was named All-ACC Second Team and IWLCA Division I Region. A team captain as a freshman, Blalock led the Cards in seven statistical categories, including goals with 43 and hat tricks with nine. She led the team with 2.53 goals per game, 3.24 points per game and 1.41 caused turnovers per game. She ranked fourth in the ACC in caused turnovers per game and fifth with 2.41 ground balls per game.
- Chad and Blalock combined to score 85 goals and 17 hat tricks last season. Blalock led the Cards with nine hat tricks, followed by Chad with eight. Ally Hall added two hat tricks, while Alex McNicholas recorded one.
- Head coach Scott Teeter came to Louisville after compiling a 145-120 record in 15 seasons at Canisius, becoming just the second head coach in the history of the Louisville lacrosse program. He currently holds a career record of 151-131.Â
- Teeter has also served as head coach of the Canadian Under-19 National Team since 2009. He guided the team to a bronze-medal showing during the 2011 championship in Hannover, Germany, before earning the country's  firrst women's field lacrosse title at the 2015 FIL World Championship in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2017, he led the Canadian National team to a pair of silver medals, both at the FIL World Cup held in England and the World Games in Poland.
