Wesbrooks Named 2018 USTA Kentucky Junior Male Tennis Player of the Year

Freshman Alex Wesbrooks was recently honored for his 2018 accomplishments
University of Louisville freshman Alex Wesbrooks was recently honored as United States Tennis Association (USTA) Kentucky 2018 Junior Male Player of the Year.
"I am happy for Alex for being given this award," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "He follows the footsteps of other great players in the past. His junior days were a stepping stone to the collegiate level that he is now. This award acknowledged his past results and I will do all that I can that his success continues in his college career at UofL."
The Louisville native earned the honor after helping St. Xavier High School capture its third straight Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) state title. The 2018 Kentucky Mr. Tennis selection also collected his second consecutive all-state selection last year and was ranked as high as No. 47 nationally according to TennisRecruiting.net.
Wesbrooks has already made an immediate impact at UofL and stands tied for second on the team with 10 singles wins and 11 doubles victories.
