UofL will send players to the Vanderbilt Commodore Scramble and the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational
The University of Louisville men's tennis team opens the 2018-19 fall season this weekend, splitting into two units for Vanderbilt's Commodore Scramble in Nashville, Tenn. and the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational in Mason, Ohio.
Â
Traveling to Nashville for the Commodore Scramble are seniors Federico Gomez, George Hedley and Brandon Lancaster and freshman Fabien Salle. The tournament will take place Friday through Sunday and will feature players from Belmont, Furman, Lipscomb, Tennessee Tech and Vanderbilt.
Â
Representing Louisville in the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational are Alex Wesbrooks, David Mizrahi, Clement Filho, Fredrik Moe and Juan Paredes. The tournament will take place Friday and Saturday and is hosted by the University of Dayton.
Â
"We are glad to start the season," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "We have been training very hard the last few weeks and we're ready to go. I know the fans want to see the new Cardinal tennis players, but I really feel that this season hinges upon the performance of our senior and I'm very excited to see what they can bring to the table in this first weekend of the year."
