Lauren Hartlage is the fourth golfer in the program’s history to earn the distinction.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's golfer Lauren Hartlage produced one of the best seasons on the course in school history, with her most recent honor coming largely from her success in the classroom.
The Elizabethtown, Ky., native, Hartlage was voted to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team and is eligible for first- or second-team Academic All-America® honors, which will be announced in June.
Hartlage, who earned all-ACC honors for the second-consecutive season, broke the school record rounds even or below par (20). Her stroke average (72.24) is second best in school history, while she tied for the most rounds in the 60s, with seven, and tied for the second-most top-10 finishes, with seven.
Hartlage, a sophomore, is the fourth golfer in program history to earn the distinction and first since Emily Haas in 2014. Including her grades from the spring this year, Hartlage boasts a 3.983 cumulative grade-point average. The finance major was a Dean's Scholar in the fall, registering a 4.0 GPA, and earned Athletic Director's Honor Roll (3.0 term GPA) and Red & Black Scholar (3.25 cumulative GPA) status in both semesters.
To be nominated for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00 and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her current institution.
Last year, Hartlage was named to the all-ACC Women's Golf Academic Team and selected as a WGCA All-American Scholar.
Hartlage wrapped up her sophomore campaign on Monday, helping lead Louisville to its second appearance at the NCAA Championships in program history. She tied for 38th at the event, shooting a 54-hole score of 8-over-par 296.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and College Division.
