
Women's Lacrosse falls to No. 2 Boston College in ACC Tournament Opener

DURHAM, N.C. – University of Louisville women's lacrosse wrapped their season with a 19-6 defeat to No. 2 Boston College in the first round of the ACC Tournament.

With the defeat, the Cardinals close the year with a 6-11 record. The Eagles improve to 18-0.

The Cardinals entered postseason play with just three players with ACC Tournament experience.

Boston College jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the first 10 minutes and the closest the Cardinals trimmed the margin the rest of the way was six goals on three occasions in the first half.

Madison Hoover and Emily Howell led the Cards with two points each as they both finished with a goal and an assist. Jillian Balog, Tessa Chad, Ally Hall and Shayla Scanlan also scored goals for the Cards.

Lexie Ball finished with 12 saves, which is just two off her career-high.

Louisville struggled to maintain possession throughout as Boston College won draw controls, 21-6.
