The Cardinals posted their 16th straight semester with at least a 3.4 GPA.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team continued its well-rounded success in the fall of 2018.
In addition to their success on the course, the Cardinals posted a team grade point average of 3.60 for the fall semester. It marks the 16th consecutive semester the program has attained at least a 3.4 GPA and fifth straight with a 3.5 or better.
Individually, five different student-athletes achieved at least a 3.5 GPA during the fall. In total, eight golfers earned Athletic Director's Honor Roll accolades for finishing the semester with at least a 3.0.
"We continue to strive for excellence in the classroom and this semester is an example of how hard the players work both on the golf course and in the classroom," head coach Courtney Trimble said. "We could not be more proud of their academic achievements and their overall team GPA this semester!"
Louisville had five women's golfers named Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars following the 2017-18 season, the highest number of selections by any Atlantic Coast Conference school. The Cardinals also had three All-ACC Academic selections last year.
Louisville closed out the fall season ranked No. 29 in the Golfweek Rankings after a victory at the Alexa Stirling Intercollegiate. The Cardinals also turned in third-place showings at the Cardinal Cup and Minnesota Invitational.
Five events await the Cardinals on the spring schedule prior to the ACC Championship. The spring season opens up on Feb. 10 with the Battle of the Bluegrass State in Birmingham, Ala.
