
Cardinals Conclude Fall Play at No. 28 in National Rankings

Louisville ended the fall season with a win at the Alexa Stirling Invitational.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team finished the fall season ranked No. 28 by Golfstat.com.

The Cardinals capped their fall season with top-10 finishes in all five tournaments, including a team title at the Alexa Stirling Women's Intercollegiate Invitational. Louisville captured two wins over top-25 opponents, beating No. 11 Auburn at the Alexa Stirling Intercollegiate and No. 24 Oklahoma at the Minnesota Invitational.

Louisville's scoring lineup ended the fall season with a 294 stroke average. Individually, the Cardinals combined for 19 rounds that were even- or below-par and collected six top-10 finishes.

Junior Lauren Hartlage led the Cardinals with a 72.57 stroke average. Her five even- or under-par rounds led the Cardinals at the end of the fall. Hartlage had three top-10 finishes as she tied for eighth at the Cardinal Cup, tied for sixth at the Minnesota Invitational, and finished second at the Alexa Stirling Intercollegiate.

Mairead Martin had an impressive start to her collegiate career, firing a 73.57 average in her first five events. Martin shot four rounds better than even- or below-par and collected two top-10 finishes, finishing tied for seventh at the Alexa Stirling Intercollegiate and tied for sixth at the Cardinal Cup.Â

Lauren Thibodeau shot two rounds in the 60's during her fall campaign, firing a 69 in the first round at the Mason Rudolph Championship and 68 in the first round at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational. She kicked off her freshman season with four rounds of even- or below-par.

From the sophomore class, Margot Bechadergue shot her first career round in the 60's at the Alexa Stirling Intercollegiate, shooting 69 in the final round. Linda Trockel shot her first under-par round at Louisville, firing a one-under 71 during the final round of the Cardinal Cup.

Junior Delaney Shah recorded her career-best finish at the Alexa Stirling Intercollegiate, finishing tied for 10th. Senior Olivia Cason shot two even-par rounds over the fall season, one at the Minnesota Invitational and one at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational.

Louisville returns to action in the spring when the team travels to Melbourne, Fla. for the Moon Golf Invitational in February.
