No. 21 Cardinals Head Out for Road Matches at Virginia and No. 6 Pittsburgh

Sunday's match with the Panthers will be the battle of the ACC unbeaten teams.
The University of Louisville volleyball team hits the road for a weekend conference series as they take on Virginia and Pittsburgh. The Cardinals will face Virginia Friday night at 7 p.m. and No. 6 Pittsburgh on Sunday at 1 p.m.
No. 21-ranked Louisville has compiled a 15-4 overall record so far this season, including going 8-0 in the ACC. The Cardinals overcame Notre Dame's early 2-0 lead last Wednesday to get the 3-2 win (27-29, 20-25, 25-17, 25-20, 15-12), followed by a Friday night sweep of Virginia Tech 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-20) to remain undefeated in conference play.Â
On the offensive side, Melanie McHenry leads the Cardinals in kills with 247 on the season while Jasmine Bennett has a team-best .416 hitting percentage. Defensively, Molly Sauer leads Louisville with 306 digs so far and a 4.50 digs per set average. Freshman Emily Scott has a team-top 59 blocks for the Cardinals.Â
Virginia
The Cavaliers enter the weekend with a 6-12 record, 2-6 in the in the ACC. Virginia is coming off road visits to NC State and North Carolina, where they fell to NC State 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 19-25, 16-25) before sweeping North Carolina, 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-22). Virginia is led offensively by Sarah Billiard who has 266 kills on the season. Defensively, Kelsey Miller has 260 digs to lead the Cavaliers.Â
PittsburghÂ
Ranked No. 6 in the country, Pittsburgh is 20-0 on the 2018 season and the only other undefeated team in ACC play. The Panthers are coming off a 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-16) sweep of North Carolina and 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23) win over NC State. Kayla Lund has 270 kills for the Panthers this season, while Angela Seman has a team-top 270 digs. Layne Van Buskirk has 95 blocks on the season to lead the Panthers.Â
