
Four Track and Field Athletes Set to Compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships

Four Cardinals will compete on this weekend at the NCAA Indoor Championships
LOUISVILLE, KY. – Dolly Nyemah, Damar Robinson, Emmonnie Henderson and Holly Hankenson will compete at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend in College Station, Texas. Nyemah will compete in the weight throw, Henderson will compete in the shot put, Hankenson will compete in the pentathlon while Robinson will compete in the high jump and the triple jump. The two-day championships begin Friday, March 10 and will be hosted by Texas A&M University.
ESPN3 will stream the meet live on March 10 starting at 6:25 p.m. Eastern time and March 11 starting at 4:55 p.m. Eastern time. A re-air of the championship will take place on Sunday, March 12 starting at 7 p.m. Eastern time on ESPN2.
Hankenson will be the first Cardinal to compete, starting on Friday, March 10 at 12:15 p.m. Her first event will be the 60 meter hurdles. Hankenson earned first team All-ACC honors with a second place finish in the pentathlon. She shattered her previous school record of 4,009 points with 4,151 points. She won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:13.56 to move into second in the final standings at the championships. She finished second in the 60 meter hurdles, sixth in the high jump, third in the shot put and second in the long jump.
Henderson will also compete on Friday, with the shot put beginning at 5:15 p.m. She was named the 2017 ACC Indoor Women's Field MVP following her win in the shot put and runner-up finish in the weight throw at the ACC Championships. Henderson won the shot put with a throw of 16.95/55-7.5 and finished second in the weight throw with a personal best throw of 19.59/64-3.25. She won the shot put with personal best throw of 17.17m/56-4 at the Hoosier open, setting a new school record. She has tallied five wins in the shot put this indoor season.
Robinson will be the first to compete on Saturday. He will begin with the high jump at 3:30 p.m. followed by the triple jump at 5:00 p.m. He was named the 2017 ACC Indoor Men's Field MVP for the second straight year. The senior won the ACC high jump title for the second straight year with a mark of 2.21m/7-3. He was the ACC runner-up in the triple jump with a personal best jump of 15.99m/52-5.5. Robinson opened the 2017 indoor season with a personal best mark of 2.22m/7-3.25 at the Kentucky Invitational to win the event, setting a new school record. In his three competitions, he has won the high jump each time. He has never finished lower than third in the triple jump this season.
Nyemah will also compete on Saturday in the weight throw at 4:30 p.m. She won the weight throw at the ACC Indoor Championships for the second straight year. She won the event with a season best throw of 22.01/72-2.5. Her mark also set a new ACC Indoor Championship record. The redshirt senior ranks fourth in the weight throw nationally heading into the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships. Nyemah has finished in the top three of every meet in the weight throw this season. She won the event twice. Last year at the NCAA Indoor Championships, Nyemah finished as the runner-up.
