Track and Field Teams Will Split Up For Competition This Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's and women's track teams will split this weekend with the distance runners competing in the Raleigh Relays while the rest of the team will compete in the Tennessee Rust Buster on Saturday.
The distance runners will compete at the Raleigh Relays on Friday. The meet begins at 9:45 a.m. with the 5000m. The Cardinals will conclude with competition in the 10,000m at 9:19 p.m.
On Saturday, the rest of the team will compete in the Tennessee Rust Buster, which begins at 9:00 a.m. with the men's hammer, followed by the women's hammer. Running events will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the women's 3000m steeplechase. The meet will conclude at 6:30 p.m. with the men's 4x400m relay.
Last Week: The Cardinals brought home four wins last weekend at the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Atlanta. Sophomore Christian Buckley took home first in the men's shot put with a throw of 17.70m/58-01.00. Senior Calvin Chemoiywo finished first in the men's 5000 meters with a time of 14:32.10.
Sophomore Morgan Zacharias and Senior Emmonnie Henderson led the women's team. Zacharias placed first in the women's pole vault with a height of 4.00m/13-01.50, while Henderson took first in the women's shot put with a mark of 16.98m/55-08.50.
