
Deja McClendon Joins Cardinals Volleyball Staff as Volunteer

Louisvillian led Penn State to two NCAA titles and was a four-time All-American.
Deja McClendon, a four-time All-American from Penn State, has joined the University of Louisville volleyball staff as a volunteer.
The duPont Manual graduate started playing volleyball in 2005 with Kentucky Indiana Volleyball Academy and finished her junior club career with KIVA in Louisville, Ky. She helped her junior club team to third-place finish at 2006 USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships. She was selected to 2008 U.S. Girls' Youth National Training Team and invited to the same program in 2009. Named Miss Kentucky Volleyball, she was also the Kentucky High School Gatorade Player of the Year.
She signed with Penn State and  helped the Nittany Lions to NCAA Division I titles in 2010 and 2013 and was a four-time AVCA All-American (2nd team in 2010 and 2013, 3rd team in 2012, 1st team in 2011). The 2010 AVCA Division I National Freshman of the Year, she was selected NCAA Championship Most Outstanding Player as freshman in 2010 after leading Penn State to title. She graduated from Penn State with a broadcast journalism major and communications minor in 2013.
She began her professional career in Baku, Azerbijian with Iqtisadçi Baku and moved to ATOM Trefl Sopot in the Polish Orlen League for the 2014-15 season. She is currently with Tauron MKS Dabrowa Górnicza.
