Track and Field Wraps Day Two with a Win and Five Top Five Finishes

Jerin Allen leads the Cardinals with a win in the high jump
Notre Dame, Ind. – The University of Louisville track and field teams wrapped up the final day of the Meyo Invitational with one win and five top five finishes on Saturday afternoon. Jerin Allen led the Cardinals with a win in the high jump.
"Both squads were able to get a great deal accomplished this weekend," said head coach Dale Cowper. "We continued to see progress in the field events and saw some strong moves on the track. I like the momentum we are building as the championship segment of our season is approaching."
Allen won the high jump with a mark of 2.12m/6-11.50. It was the second win of the season for the junior. Teammate Javen Reeves finished second with a mark of 2.12m/6-11.50.
Sophomore Raven Grant finished third in the women's 60-meter semifinals with a time of 7.46 to qualify for the finals. She finished second in the finals with a personal best time of 7.43, giving her a top 10 time in the ACC this season.
Emmonnie Henderson continued her impressive showing in the shot put this season. Henderson finished second with a throw of 16.53m/54-02.75. She has finished in the top two of the shot put in all six meets this season.
Damar Robinson wrapped up the top finishes on the day with a third place finish in the triple jump. Robinson finished with a mark of 15.69m/51-05.75, the top collegiate mark of the meet.
The Cardinals will be back in action next weekend at the Music City Invitational. It will be the final tune up for the Cardinals before the ACC Indoor Championships on Feb. 23-25 in South Bend, Ind.
