Melanie McHenry Named ACC Volleyball Player of the Week

Sophomore outside hitter helped secure two ACC wins last weekend.

University of Louisville outside hitter, Melanie McHenry has been selected as the ACC Volleyball Player of the Week, and Ella Saada of Syracuse was named the ACC Volleyball Freshman of the Week.

McHenry and the Cardinals defeated No. 21 Florida State and Miami in straight sets at home over the weekend. The sophomore outside hitter from Speedway, Indiana, recorded a match-high 18 kills with a .385 hitting percentage and 11 digs against the Seminoles. McHenry recorded 33 total kills, a .333 hitting percentage, 20 digs and three blocks.

Saada was key in the Orange's road wins over Duke and Syracuse. An outside hitter from Kfar Masaryk, Israel, Saada tied for a match-high 15 kills against Duke, and paced Syracuse with 13 kills against Wake. The rookie racked up 28 kills, 16 digs, four blocks and four service aces on the weekend.
