Women's Soccer Hosts No. 15 Wake Forest in Home Finale

Cardinals close out home play against the Demon Deacons on Thursday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In their final home match of the regular season, the University of Louisville women's soccer team welcomes No. 15 Wake Forest to Lynn Stadium on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Following their 3-0 shutout win against Pitt, the Cardinals hold a record of 9-6-0 overall and are 3-4 in ACC play.
Freshman midfielder Emina Ekic is the Cardinals' leading scorer through 15 matches, totaling 17 points with seven goals and three assists. The sophomore duo of Brooklynn Rivers and Allison Whitfield has also been integral to the Louisville offense, each tallying four goals and two assists apiece.
In goal, Gabby Kouzelos has earned 41 saves and holds a goals against average of 1.16. With the Cardinals' 3-0 win over Pittsburgh last weekend, the redshirt freshman recorded her fourth shutout of the season.
Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 18th season with the Cardinals. She has led Louisville to four NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011.
SCOUTING WAKE FOREST
The Demon Deacons defeated No. 16 Florida State 2-1 last weekend to jump seven spots in the national rankings to No. 15. With the victory, Wake Forest improved to 10-3-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the ACC.
Junior midfielder Bayley Feist leads the Wake Forest offense with six goals and one assist, followed by Maddie Huster with four goals and two assists. Freshman Hannah Betford is also an offensive standout for the Demon Deacons, adding four goals on the season.
Senior goalkeeper Lindsay Preston has accumulated 42 saves through 15 matches with a goals against average of 0.68. On the year, she has logged five shutout victories.
Head coach Tony da Luz is in his 20th season at the helm of the Wake Forest women's soccer team. He holds a record of 247-153-41 at Wake Forest and has led the Demon Deacons to an NCAA Tournament bid in 17 out of 19 seasons.
