LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville announced on Thursday the hiring of Erin Horn as the director of operations for the men's and women's golf teams.
Horn comes to Louisville after serving as the director of communications and membership for four years at Golf House Kentucky. From 2012-17, she managed all communications, marketing efforts, and digital properties for Kentucky's Family of Golf organizations in addition to maintaining membership services, databases, and reports for corporate partners.
Additionally, she aided Kentucky golfers wishing to regain their amateur status through the USGA. Horn also created a marketing campaign for the foundation, which won a Spirit of Louisville Award. During her time, she executed the Kentucky Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and two annual Kentucky PGA Member Conferences.
Horn, previously Erin Bell, was part of the first Louisville women's golf team and lettered from 1999-03.
“I'm really excited to bring Erin on as a part of our staff,” women's golf head coach Courtney Trimble said. “As a former UofL golfer, she has passion for the game and the University of Louisville. She brings a wealth of knowledge from her experience in the golf industry, and we look forward to her helping us continue to move the golf program toward the top.”
“We're so pleased to be able to hire Erin and have her join us as the director of ops,” men's golf head coach Mark Crabtree added. “It's always a joy to bring back a former Cardinal. She is a perfect match for what we were looking for – she understands the game of golf, has strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and a desire to be back as a part of the Cardinal family. She is a wonderful addition and will help us tremendously in providing a great experience for our student-athletes.”
Before signing on with Golf House Kentucky, Horn was an assistant PGA professional at Big Spring Country Club from 2009-12. Horn previously was an assistant golf professional at Polo Fields Golf & Country Club from 2005-09.
Horn, who earned her bachelor's degree from Louisville in 2003, was part of the Cardinals' first women's golf team in 1999. She has been a Class A PGA member since January 2010.
Horn and her husband Nick have a son Hudson, and the couple resides in Louisville.
