LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team is returning to action a week after opening the 2016-17 campaign, trekking to the Minnesota Invitational against a 10-team field in Minneapolis, Minn.
The two-day, 54-hole competition begins on Monday at 8:45 a.m. ET and will be held at the Minikahda Club, a par-72, 6,119-yard course. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday followed by a round of 18 on Tuesday, with a shotgun start. The event features six teams that finished last year ranked in Golfstat's top 50.
The Cardinals will utilize a lineup of Jacqueline Twitty, Olivia Cason, Louise Oxner, Lauren Hartlage, and Molly Skapik, with Delaney Shah playing as one of five individuals in the tournament. Live scoring is available through Golfstat.com.
At last week's season opener in Georgia, the Cardinals earned a fifth-place finish. Oxner, Twitty, Hartlage, Shannon Gramley, and Skapik helped combine for a two-round score of 29-over-par 605.
Twitty shot a 5-over-par 149, tying for ninth behind 27 pars. Cason, who led the Louisville Black team to a sixth-place showing, had the best overall finish for Louisville with a tie for seventh. Oxner tied for 12th, and the Cardinals' freshmen – Hartlage (tied for 20th) and Shah (tied for 12th) – also had solid collegiate debuts.
