Men's Tennis Fall Schedule Announced

Cards will open fall play this weekend
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's tennis coach has released the Cardinals' 2016-17 fall schedule. The slate includes 11 tournaments spanning from September through November with the Louisville Fall Invitational being held Oct. 15-16 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

"We will be playing all over the country and some of the best events," said Ecarma. Â "It will be a great experience for the new players, which is about half the team. I am a firm believer that a player needs to play top tournaments - and plenty of them - to realize his potential. We will improve a lot these next three months."

UofL will open fall play Sept. 16-18 at the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational. The following week will bring the Southern Intercollegiate Fall Tournament in Athens, Ga. Select players will participate in the All-American Championship which will be held Oct. 1-10 in Tulsa, Okla. The second week of October features the Bayliss Invitational on the campus of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.

Fans will get their first glimpse of the 2016-17 team at annual Louisville Fall Invitational will be held Oct. 15-16 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. At the midway point of the fall season, some players will head to Knoxville, Tenn., for the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional. UofL will close October at the Birmingham ITF Futures Tournament in Birmingham, Ala. The final weekend of fall play, Nov. 4-6, will see the team split up to attend the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championship, Dick Vitale/Lakewood Ranch Invitational and the CCB Collegiate Invitational.

The Cardinals return six players from the 2016 team which posted 15 wins. Louisville also welcomes five newcomers to the 2016-17 squad.
