Kelsi Worrell Finishes 9th in 100 fly at Olympic Games

Worrell posts a 57.54
University of Louisville swimmer Kelsi Worrell finished ninth in the 100-fly in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Â The Cardinal swimmer posted a 57.54 in the first semifinal heat but just missed out on her first Olympic final.

Sweden's Sarah Sjostrom went 55.84 in heat 2 in the semifinals for the top qualifying time. Emma McKeon of Australia was second in 56.81. Rikako Ikee of Japan was third with a 57.05, setting a Japanese national record in the process. Denmark's Jeanette Ottesen was fourth with a 57.06. Canada's Penny Oleksiak put up a 57.10 to finish fifth overall.
Dana Vollmer (57.47), Lu Ying (57.15), and Chen Xinyi (57.51) made up the remaining finalists.
