Junior from Phoenix takes her turn blogging about preseason
Hey Cards Fans!!!
Â
It's Tess Clark here! For those of you that don't know, I am a junior middle blocker from Phoenix, Arizona!Â
Â
Today was Day 8 of our preseason. We started off the day as we usually do with a hearty breakfast of oatmeal, fruit, bagels, and all other sorts of food. After that we hit the gym hard for our first session of the day. We worked on our defense, serving, and our blocking. We finished  our practice and did a lovely stretching session with our trainer Nicole!Â
Â
From there we went to Thornton's for lunch and it was delicious!! Then the best part of our day came....NAP TIME! We all grabbed our pillows and blankets and took a great hour nap.Â
Â
To start our second session off we played a game called SPUD! Let's just say it involves running and chucking volleyball at each other. The girls that got out early of the game had to go on the sideline and do a Zumba routine coached by our own Eleni Georgiafandis! It was hilarious. After we settled down, we got right to business working on our hitter/setter connection and some more  defense. My 6'3 body is getting use to being on the ground..
Â
After our session ended we hopped into the lovely ice bath of 50 degrees and drank our cherry juice to help our sore muscles! Dinner was at Thornton's Center like usual but this dinner was the best one yet with steak, mashed potatoes, chicken parm, and they always have a flowing stream of chocolate milk.Â
Â
Tomorrow morning is an off session so we get to sleep in till.....9am! Whoooooo! Overall this preseason is going extremely well and we are growing closer and closer as a team every day. I cannot wait for this season and to see all of our amazing fans at our games!Â
