Koval transferred back home to The Ville to be a Cardinal
Hi Cardinals Fans! My name is Nikki Koval and it is my turn on the Volleyblog.Â
Today we got an extra hour of sleep so we started the day with a little extra pep in our step. We started with our usual breakfast that we each get to pick ourselves. I had strawberry oatmeal with some toppings! It was delicious, and then we had time to visit our trainer for any help we needed before practice started.
Today's schedule was a little different than what we've been doing; we split up our team by positions and did some individual work with each position. It really helps when you get to focus on what your job is and to be able to slow things down. After our first session was done, we had a light lift with our awesome trainer Zach Farrel! He does everything he can to make sure we are in good shape to prevent injuries. His baby daughter Sutton was also with him, and we always love seeing her. She is the cutest!
After lift the team headed straight to the Thornton's Academic Center for lunch, and it was amazing as usual! We are so spoiled with our options where we eat. Next we had our daily nap time; everyone cuddles up in the locker room for about an hour or two and we are knocked to say the least.
We are then reenergized and of course see Nicole Lowery for anything that's bothering us, before we head into our second practice session. We had avery good evening session and were all sweating within the first five minutes. It was an awesome practice!
Afterwards we headed to The Thornton's center again for dinner where I enjoyed a lovely salad, and a grilled cheese with tomato soup. It was delicious! We then met in our video room where we watched a TED Talk and talked about the importance of social capitalism.
I love spending everyday with my second family and it'll all be worth it once season comes!
