Maggie DeJong Takes Over the Volleyblog
August 15, 2016 | Women's Volleyball
Cards preseason is underway.
Hey Cards fans!Â
Â
My name is Maggie DeJong and I am taking over the Volleyblog! This is my third season as a Cardinal, and I cannot wait for everyone to see our team compete this year.
Â
We just completed Day 6 of our preseason. This means we are over halfway done and one step closer to the first match of our season! I hope you all are excited, because I sure am!
Â
Our team has been working extremely hard on the court and pushing through practice. Before we got going this morning, our strength coach, Zach Farrel, helped get our bodies warmed up and ready to go. Our trainer, Nicole Lowry, has helped us get through while dealing with our sweaty bodies and smelly feet.Â
Â
I don't know how she does it!
Â
After practice, we headed to the new Thornton's Academic Center (aka the place with the best food on campus.)Â While we scarfed our faces with smoothies, sandwiches, and salads, we enjoyed relaxing and hanging out as a team.
Â
When our stomachs were full and happy, we got the chance to get treatment and take naps before firing up for the next session. Before we knew it, everyone was back on the court ready to get better.
Â
Our team is so unique and fun, and everyone has different personalities. I am so thankful to be playing with the best girls around and I cannot wait for you all to meet us this fall!
Â
Thanks for checking out today's Volleyblog, and we will be seeing you soon! Go Cards!
