Molly Sauer Takes Her Turn on the Volleyblog
August 13, 2016 | Women's Volleyball
Cards get a little time to goof off! Just a little.
Hey y'all!
Â
You guessed it! It's Molly Sauer reporting the glorious Day 4. How do we get through preseason you ask? Days like today are what get us through! Today we had only one session, and then lots of team bonding.
Â
We started off this morning at 7 a.m. with Panera breakfast sandwiches from our favorite nutritionist, Nick. He's been hooking us up with some very nice breakfast choices these past couple days. After that we headed into our only session of the day with lots of defense and ball control. It's a pretty fun atmosphere so far in the gym.
Janelle Jenkins, Tess Clark and I spent the lunch hour at Media Day with the other women's team sports (field hockey and soccer). We had a great turnout of television and newspapers. Â Katie George was covering us from WDRB. Last year, she was on the other side of the camera.Â
Â
I'm guess we're doing something right because Anne decided that we were going to be off the night session. We had a little bit of a break to watch some Olympics and take naps and fit our rehab and ice baths in before coming back around 4:15.
Then, we got split up into three teams for a karaoke battle. We got to pick our songs and choreograph a dance with our teammates to host a competition in the new auditorium at the Thornton's Center. If I might add, that place is absolutely incredible.
Â
If you don't follow our Instagram page, you definitely should! ( @uoflvolleyball ) there you would probably see some very professional dancing going on by the UofL volleyball team. We could practically be Ladybirds. I must say though, my team came out on top with a little High School Musical throw back. After that the team headed to celebrate another day of preseason in the books at Graeter's! It was much needed and well earned.
Â
Now we are all resting up because we are back at it again tomorrow! Catch ya guys at a game!
Â
Go Cards! See you at the match!
