Women’s Golf’s Restrepo Named to All-ACC Team

Laura Restrepo boasts the sixth-best scoring average in the league.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville senior Laura Restrepo has been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference women's golf team, the league announced on Wednesday.
Restrepo, one of 12 selections to the team, boasts the sixth-best scoring average in the conference at 73.10 and owns five top-10 finishes. Her stroke average ranks as the second-lowest mark in school history. Through 11 events played, she has shot even or below par in 10 rounds.
For the Panama native, it is her second all-conference accolade and she is the first player in program history to secure all-ACC honors. Restrepo, who earned all-BIG EAST accolades as a freshman, is carrying a 74.19 career stroke average through 125 rounds, with 16 top-10 finishes.
The 5-foot-7 finance major has excelled off the course as well. She was selected during February as a recipient for an ACC Postgraduate Scholarship. Restrepo, a member of the 2014-15 ACC All-Academic Team, is a three-time WGCA Academic All-American Scholar and also part of the Chi Alpha Sigma Student-Athlete Honor Society for maintaining at least a 3.4 cumulative grade-point average.
Restrepo and the Cardinals are competing this week in the NCAA Bryan Regional, their third-consecutive appearance at the regional championships, from May 5-7. The three-day, 54-hole event is being held at Traditions Golf Club in Bryan, Texas, with the top six teams advancing to the NCAA Championship.
