Morissette selected to play in the United Women’s Lacrosse League
LOUISVILLE, KY. -- Louisville All-American Kay Morissette was one of seven college seniors selected this week to play in the United Women's Lacrosse League (UWLX). Morissette was selected by the Philadelphia Force. She is immediately eligible for play along with the other seniors selected. The inaugural season kickoff was this weekend.Â
A 2016 IWLCA All-American, Morissette wrapped up her senior campaign as the all-time draw controls leader with 572 and ranks second in the nation in draw controls with 8.56 per game. The first team All-ACC selection led the Cardinals this season 56 points, scoring 37 goals and adding 19 assists. She also led the team in ground balls with 36 on the year. Morissette has scored seven hat tricks this season and scored two game-winning goals for the Cardinals.  Â
The inaugural United Women's Lacrosse League season officially started on Saturday afternoon with a pair of matches at Goodman Stadium, located on the campus of Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. In the first-ever league match, the Baltimore Ride will take on the Long Island Sound at 3:15 p.m., followed up by the Philadelphia Force against the Boston Storm at 5:00 p.m.
