The 5-foot-5 golfer entered the day tied for 11th, but had a tough stretch opening the day on the back nine. Cason, who has a 4-over-par 148 through two rounds, bogeyed her first hole and then double bogeyed the next before putting in a two birdies over the next four holes.
The Owensboro, Ky., native, Cason is scheduled to open the third round at 3:55 p.m. ET on hole 10.
Should she rank as one of the top nine individuals not on a team advancing to match play following Sunday's competition, Cason will play an additional round of 18 on Monday for the individual national title that will be televised on the Golf Channel.
