Gornet Selected to All-ACC Third Team

Senior Alex Gornet earns All-ACC honors
The University of Louisville's Alex Gornet has been selected to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis third team.
"I'm really proud that Alex was named an all-ACC player - that is a great honor for him and our program," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "He was rewarded in culmination with his level of play the last couple of years and I'm sure that stood out in the minds of all of the ACC coaches."
Gornet, a senior from Louisville, Ky., was a team-co-captain and a four-year starter for the Cardinals. As a senior, he was second on the team with 21 singles wins and played most of the dual match season at No. 1 for Louisville. He finished his career ranked 10th on Louisville's all-time singles wins list with 96 and tallied 80 doubles victories.
During his senior season, Gornet reached as high as No. 105 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles rankings and paired with fellow senior Jeffrey Brown to appear in the doubles rankings appearing as high as No. 35. Gornet is a two-time ITA Ohio Valley Regional semifinalist in singles.
