Nicolas Rouanet will join the Cards in the fall
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rex Ecarma has announced that Nicolas Rouanet has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Cardinals starting in the fall of 2016.
Rouanet, who will be a junior in the fall, joins the Cardinals from ASA Miami Junior where he compiled a 27-4 career singles record while winning the Region 3 Junior College Championship in 2015. The Gujan Mestres, France native reached the finals of the No. 1 singles division in the Junior College Nationals and has been ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation.
"Nicolas really fits our needs for experience," said Ecarma. "Las season's team maybe the most inexperienced I have ever had. He is highly talented and fast. He also is a lefty which we do not currently have on our team. Nicolas has good doubles skills. His coach told me that he is one of the most special doubles players he has ever coached and is the glue to their great team. He loves the game and is humble, responsible and respectful – which reminds me of the character of Cardinal Tennis great Sebastian Stiefelmeyer."
