Senior Alex Gornet reflects on his career at Louisville
On Sunday, April 17, the University of Louisville men's tennis team will honor seniors Jeffrey Brown and Alex Gornet in their final match at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Gornet reflects on his career at Louisville in a senior spotlight presentation.
Alex Gornet
Senior Alex Gornet elected to play for his hometown school and made an immediate impact as a starter his freshman season. Entering the weekend, he has tallied 95 singles wins and 80 doubles victories. He has been nationally-ranked in both singles and doubles this season. And has appeared in the doubles rankings with two different partners throughout his career at Louisville, reaching as high as No. 31 with Albert Wagner. Gornet is a two-time ITA Ohio Valley Regional semifinalist in singles.
•The senior co-captain is also a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Council
The Chemistry major is a three-time ITA Scholar Athlete and a 2014 CoSIDA/Academic All-District team member. He has garnered academic accolades in three different conferences including All-ACC Academic Team and honor roll selection, American Athletic Conference team (2014) and BIG EAST academic team (2013). Gornet was also named to the Athletic Director's honor roll in each of his semesters.
