
Women’s Golf Heads West to Compete in Silverado Showdown

The Cardinals are set to face eight teams ranked in Golfstat’s top 50.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team heads west to compete in its final regular-season event, taking part in the Silverado Showdown that begins on Sunday in Napa, Calif.
The three-day competition is being held at the Silverado North Course and features eight teams that are currently in the top 50 of the latest Golfstat rankings. Teams will play 18 holes on Sunday and Monday beginning at 10:45 a.m. ET and conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Louisville will utilize a starting lineup of Laura Restrepo, Louise Oxner, Katie Mitchell, Jacqueline Twitty, and Molly Skapik.
Last time out, the Cardinals earned a seventh-place finish at the Briar's Creek Invitational with a 10-over-par 874. Louisville posted the second-best average on par-4 holes (4.09).
Restrepo led the way with a ninth-place showing behind a season-best 2-under-par 214. It was her best three-round score since her sophomore season. She totaled 13 birdies, with an eagle on the first day of action.
Oxner and Mitchell each recorded top-30 finishes at the tournament in South Carolina. Oxner clubbed an even-par 72 in the final round, finishing with a 2-over-par 218 and tying for 21st, while Mitchell placed 27th with a 1-under-par in the third round and a 3-over-par 219 overall.
On the season, Restrepo is pacing Louisville in stroke average (72.76) and leads the team in top-10 finishes (5) through nine events. Mitchell is second in stroke average (73.68), and freshman Kehoe is third at 75.44.
The Silverado Showdown will be Louisville's final event before the ACC Championship, which starts on April 15 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
